Check to make sure your date/time is correct. Do not forget to check the year!!

Reload Internet Explorer and enter the classroom and you should be good to go!

Problems getting on Internet with Dell e5500 laptop?

Some students have had an issue with connecting to a wireless connection with the Dell Latitude e5500 laptop. One of the issues might be that you accidentally shut off the wireless on the laptop by switching the wireless switch to off. Here is the error you would probably be getting if the button was turned off:

The switch is located on the front of the laptop:

In the picture the wireless connection is turned on, but if it was switched off you would see Red. Make sure the switch is pushed all the way to the right so no Red is showing, like the picture above.

Holt/HRW is loading slow

Holt/HRW textbooks are loading slow for everyone right now. Holt/HRW is aware of the issue and they are currently working on it. We will update you when we get more information.

Problems scanning?

Do you have problems scanning when you push the scan button? If the answer is yes, then you need to know that you have to use the Lexmark Productivity Studio icon to scan your documents!!

The Icon looks like this and should be located on your desktop after it is installed:

When the Lexmark Productivity Studio opens just click on the Scan icon (as pictures below):

**Make sure you scan the worksheet as a GRAPHIC/PICTURE! If you scan it as a document your teacher will not be able to read it!!**

Why is my screen sideways?

Sometimes when the wrong buttons are hit the screen will end up being sideways.

To correct this problem simply click CTRL + ALT (Hold down CTRL & ALT at same time then) + Up Arrow.

Getting a Java error when loading Wimba?

If you are trying to load Wimba and at the wizard it stops at Java, all you need to do is click and run the "Fix for Wimba" link below.

What ink cartridge should I buy?

When you are looking to buy ink it is important to buy the correct number ink. You need to look at the model of the printer that you have, that could be: x1100, X1270, x2500, x2600, x2670. The number is located on the printer itself on the lower right hand corner.

The printer model corresponds to the cartridge number:

x1100 = 17
x1270 = 16
x2400 = 1
x2500 = 28
x2600 = 14
x2670 = 14
x3350 = 32

Here is an example of what an ink cartridge package looks like:

Students, Teachers and Staff,

The system maintenance that was performed on the BlackBoard server this weekend is complete and was successful. Blackboard has been upgraded and is now back online, you should be able to log into your classes again.

Out of printer ink?

PALO does not supply students with ink. Your best bet is to try Target, Walmart, Best Buy, or Staples.

Centra session has already expired?

If you log into your Centra session and you get an error that says "Session has already expired" check your computers time and time zone, they might be off.

Having problems getting past the Java check in Wimba?

The user needs to install a Java patch for Wimba to be able to work.

Click on the following link: http://www.palearnersonline.com/A1/lib/MobileClient_JavaFix.zip and open the file MobileClient_JavaFix.reg then click on run. Click Yes to run it, then OK and the patch is installed.

Close all Internet Explorer windows and open them back up and run the Wimba wizard.
